NOTICE OF POSITION
POSITION:
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
JROTC INSTRUCTOR FOR CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION (CTE)-.1.0FTE

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold the required certifications in accordance with JROTC rules and regulations. Candidates must be retired from the Army, Army Reserve or Army National Guard and held title of a non-commissioned officer (NCO) grades E6 thru E9 or commissioned officer 03-06.
DUTIES
Under the direction of the Principal of McKinley High School and the Director of Career and Technical Education:
- Responsible for implementing the JROTC curriculum and program requirements
- Prepare plans, coordination, and supervision of all co-curricular service learning, special activities or events (military ball, drill meets, honor guards, encampments, and other extracurricular activities)
- Manage property management, budget and fund raising controls for the JROTC unit
- Assess and evaluate student progress and growth through formal and informal evaluations procedures. Evaluate students’ progress and determines materials and strategies to provide for their needs
- Coordinate and consolidate lesson plans, curriculum activities, and objectives with other content areas in order to provide for transfer of learning and knowledge
- Develop thematic units and other projects to provide for extended interaction and creativity. Instruct 180 hours of character development materials in classroom and laboratory environment
- Administer, advise, and appraise extracurricular teams (drill, physical training and academic challenge)
- Determine and administer cadets who serve in key leadership positions (command and staff)
- Administer, advise, coordinate, and supervise special activities or events such as the annual military ball, drill meets, and awards ceremony
- Implement and maintain communication and coordination with the school faculty and staff to promote cadet involvement in school activities, cadet recruitment and retention
- Counsel, mentor, and tutor cadets as needed
- Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned
