POSITION:                
The Interim Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Donald A. Ogilvie, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:      
 

Candidates must have a Master’s degree, and a New York State School District Administrator (SDA), School District Leader (SDL) certificate by the time of appointment.  Candidates must have a minimum of eight (8) years combined administrative and teaching experience, with a minimum of two years at the supervisory level. Candidate with prior instructional leadership roles and/or administrative experience in an urban school district is preferred.
 
POSITION:                

Under the direction of the Superintendent or schools or his designee, The Lead Transition Facilitator for Lafayette High School #204 will ensure the school plan provides evidence of thoughtful preparation and resource allocation and ensures that decisions pertaining to curriculum, staffing, professional development, and resource allocation are made according to a logical timeline that supports successful implementation of the plan beginning September 2016.
 
                                                                       
RESPONSIBILITIES:            
 
The Instructional Specialist will serve as the Lead Transition Facilitator for Lafayette High
School #204 and be responsible for but not limited to the following:
 
 
  • Serves as liaison between district central offices and Lafayette HS #204.
  • Meets with School Based Management Team (SBMT) and school community to explain status, answer questions and establish meeting dates for continuing dialogue regarding the completion and implementation of the plan for Lafayette HS #204.
  • Conduct meetings with faculty and staff of school to share information and gain feedback regarding Lafayette HS #204.
  • Communicates with Central office personnel regularly, specifically the Office of School Leadership and the Department of Curriculum, Assessment and Instruction.
  • Meet with Parents to discuss options that are available for placement in other schools with available seats for the affected school years.
  • Establish framework of the plan including all components: executive summary, mission, key design elements, and community, educational plan, organizational and fiscal plan, professional development, family and community involvement; establish criteria for consideration of RFP’s.
  • Responsible for all aspects of moving Lafayette HS #204 to whatever option/model is chosen by the Board of Education.
  • Works with appropriate offices to ensure RFP is sent out in a timely and efficient manner, coordinates review of RFP replies.
  • Updates Board of Education at Student Achievement Committee meetings and Board of Education meetings as required by Superintendent or designee
  • Designs, along with an advisory team, a detailed timeline and action plan to include all aspects of phase out and phase in of Lafayette HS #204.
  • Develop professional skills appropriate to job assignment.
  • Demonstrate professional, ethical, and responsible behavior.
  • Comply with district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality in the conduct of district business.
  • Interprets statutes and regulations for staff and community;
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
 
APPOINTMENT:       

Appointment will be made by the Interim Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, credentials and evaluation of service.  Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate.
