NOTICE OF POSITION
POSITION:
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
SPECIAL EDUCATION SUPERVISOR for HUMAN RESOURCES

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a Master’s degree, a permanent New York State teaching certificate in Special Education and a school administrator certificate (SDA) or New York State School District Leader (SDL). Candidates must have completed five years of approved and appropriate teaching in Special Education and have prior experience in an administrative or CSE Chairperson role.
DUTIES:
The Supervisor of Special Education for Human Resources will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:
- Assist in the coordination and implementation of staffing procedures for Special Education;
- Take a leadership role with Human Resources regarding staffing for Special Education;
- Facilitate and ensure the selection of highly qualified & content certified secondary Special Education Department Staff including ESY staffing;
- Supervise the work of staff to ensure that the process and procedures used in the Department are congruent with the district’s needs, expectations, and policies for reduction in force & transfers;
- Assist in designing, preparing and facilitating the Teacher Recruitment efforts for Special Education;
- Become active with higher education to develop a close working relationship for recruitment of teachers and the community at large;
- Assist in the planning and implementation of the district’s professional development program for new teachers and model the personal and professional expectations held for district personnel by demonstrating a commitment to growth and renewal.
APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, certifications, credentials and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate.
