POSITION:
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for Grades 9 - 12 summer school teaching positions:
GRAD POINT CURRICULM TEACHER

Staff dates: July 20 – August 23, 2016
Library staff dates: July 20 – August 16, 2016
Student instruction dates: July 20 – August 16, 2016
Regents exams to be held: August 17 and 18, 2016
Rating and Grade Input: August 19, 22, and 23, 2016
Staff hours: 8:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
Student hours: 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must have earned a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree and have a New York State teaching certificate in Secondary Education-Core Subject Areas. The candidate must have a demonstrated record of effective academic results with academically challenged students.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Nova Net Teachers will work under the supervision of the Principal/Assistant Principal. The Principal, as the responsible head and educational leader of the school will assure compliance with state education law and Commissioner’s Regulations. The assignment includes:
- Facilitate, monitor, guide, support and communicate with students on their progress in the Nova Net curriculum Communicate with students, guidance counselors and administrators the progress of the students
Paid teacher preparation session is scheduled for July 19, 2016 (3 hour session). Successful candidates are encouraged to attend.
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Please review the dates carefully. FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE STUDENTS AND CONTINUITY OF THE PROGRAM, TEACHERS ARE EXPECTED TO SERVE THE FULL TERM OF THE PROGRAM.
APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of summer school seniority, training, credentials, certifications and evaluation of service. Interviews shall
be scheduled where appropriate.
SALARY: Teacher hourly rate based on BTF contract.
