JANUARY 23, 2013 PART-TIME - HOURLY
POSITION: The Interim Superintendent of Schools, Donald A. Ogilvie, is interested in
receiving applications from qualified candidates for a part-time hourly position in the
Neglected & Delinquent Youth Program for the 2012-2013 school year as:
GENERAL EDUCATION TEACHER
SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER
GUIDANCE COUNSELOR

QUALIFICATIONS:Candidates must hold a New York State Education Department (NYSED)
permanent teaching certification for subject area Grades 9-12 and be currently employed with
the Buffalo Public Schools as a tenured teacher, have knowledge of NYSED Common Core
Learning standards, knowledge of core curriculum, knowledge of application of scientifically-based
research, and effective use of technology integration.Candidates must have experience working
with out of school, at-risk, and late-adolescent youth.
LOCATION: TBA – Monday through Friday, 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
DUTIES: Under the direction of the Director of Student Support Services the General Education Teacher
for Neglected & Delinquent Youth Program will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Implement the instructional program in the appropriate subject area by following curriculum guidelines and NYSED Common Core Learning standards.
- Teach all academic subjects to small groups or individual students in need of remedial instruction, including instruction in the computer lab.
- Regularly monitor student progress and keep records of all grading assessments and intervention strategies used.
- Create regular reports for parents and provide grades for students at designated time.
- Utilize software database and prescriptive software systems currently available.
- Maintain accurate records and submit student documentation based on NYSED NRS guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
APPOINTMENT: Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation
of the Superintendent following assessment of credentials, experience and evaluation of service.
SALARY: Hourly Evening teacher rate.
