                                                    NOTICE OF POSITION

 
 
POSITION:              
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Pamela C. Brown, is interested in receiving applications from qualified
candidates for the position of:
 
                         REMEDIAL SPEECH TEACHER/MEDICAID COORDINATOR

APPLICATION:

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a New York State Licensure and Registration as a Speech-Language Pathologist,
ASHA certificate of Clinical Competence, permanent certification as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing
Handicapped or Teacher of the Speech and Language Disabled. A Minimum of five years experience as a
Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist is required.  ASHA certification is required.  Candidates must have
application knowledge of IEP Direct, Medicaid Regulations, ASHA Scope and Practice of Speech-Language
Pathology and Federal and State Regulations pertaining to Speech Pathology.  Candidates must also
possess strong interpersonal communication skills.
 
DUTIES:                    

The duties of the Coordinator for Speech and Language will include, but will not be limited to:

 
  • Providing information and support to the Teachers of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped/Speech and Language Disabled pursuant to Medicaid reimbursement requirements.
  • Support TSHH/TSLD with three or less years experience per District protocol.
  • Support TSHH/TSLD as requested by the teachers.
  • Assist with the Medicaid requirements of the Extended School Year process.
                                                                                               
APPOINTMENT:      
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent
following assessment of training, experience, credentials and evaluation of service.  Personal interviews
shall be scheduled where appropriate.
 
 
SALARY:                   Teacher salary schedule.
 
FUNDING:                 Pending Funding
