POSITION:                         
The Interim Superintendent of Schools, Donald A. Ogilvie, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
 

 
                           PROJECT ADMINISTRATOR FOR THE MATH SCIENCE PARTNESHIP (MSP) GRANTS
                                              MATH FOCUS (.7 FTE) AND SCIENCE FOCUS (.3 FTE)

QUALIFICATIONS:        
Candidates must hold a Master’s degree, and a school district administrator (SDA/SDL) certificate or School Business Administrator (SBA/SBL) by the time of appointment. The candidate must have a completed three years of approved and appropriate teaching experience.  Candidates must possess, and have demonstrated, strong organizational and communication skills, both written and oral. Candidates with prior mathematics, science or administrative experience in an urban school district with a large racially and ethnically diverse population are preferred.
 
DUTIES:              
Under the direction of both the Directors of the Mathematics and the Director of Science, the Project Administrator assigned to MSP - Math and Science will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

 
  • Supporting the development of all professional development and training related to the implementation of the Common Core Learning Standards (CCLS) as defined by the Mathematics Grant Narrative.
  • Supporting the development of all professional development and training related to inquiry based science, literacy in science and the implementation of the NYSED MST Standards / NGSS (once adopted by NYSED BOR) as defined by the Science Grant Narrative.
  • Collecting instructional evidence/artifacts from schools showing evidence of learning in the classroom.
  • Developing periodic surveys of teachers and principals which will demonstrate the knowledge and abilities related to professional development. Surveys maybe created in partnership with the external evaluator and institutions of high education.
  • Overseeing the development of budgets and budget narratives for proposals and special projects for the MSP grant.
  • Building stakeholder support
  • Creation of orders, input of orders, and distribution of materials associated with the MST Grants.
  • Meeting with Higher Education Partners
  • Planning and Preparing Professional Development materials with High Education Partners.
  • Management of Professional Development Sessions
  • Establishing time for collaboration.
  • Preparing reports for NYSED.
  • Attending NYSED trainings as required.
 
APPOINTMENT:             
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Interim Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, credentials, and evaluation of service.
