                                         NOTICE OF POSITION

 
POSITION:               
The Interim Superintendent of Schools, Donald A. Ogilvie, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
 
                   WORK BASED LEARNING COORDINATOR FOR CAREER & TECHNICAL EDUCATION

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a current and valid New York State teaching certificate and have or be in the process of completing applications for a valid a New York State Work-based Career Awareness and/or Coordinator of Cooperative Work Study Programs Extension. Candidates must have completed three years of approved and appropriate teaching and/or administrative experience, preferably in a high school setting.  Special consideration will be given to applicants who hold a CTE teaching certificate.
 
DUTIES:                    
Under the direction of the Director of Career and Technical Education:
 

 
  • Compliance of all NYSED and NYSDOL guidelines as they pertain to school youth in all work based learning experiences.
  • Collaborate in the set up and administration of New York State/Industry assessments.
  • Oversee the Work Based Learning activities as outlined in the Perkins secondary grant including but not limited to in school speakers, field trips, paid and unpaid work experience. Volunteer activities, etc…
  • Collaborate with partners to develop and oversee summer work experiences identified in Perkins grant.
  • Develop and participate in career fairs highlighting the High School CTE programs.
  • Collaborate in the certification and recertification process for CTE programs with NYSED.
  • And other duties as assigned.
                                                                       
APPOINTMENT:      
Appointment will be made by the Interim Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, credentials and evaluation of service.  Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate.
 
SALARY:                  
Teacher salary schedule w/ summer hours determined through grant to oversee summer work experiences.
