                                                  NOTICE OF POSITION 

POSITION:
The Superintendent of Schools, Pamela C. Brown, is interested in receiving applications from qualified
candidates for the position of:


SCIENCE TEACHER – Biology Certification (0.4FTE) / SCIENCE COORDINATOR (0.6FTE)School 59

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold Buffalo or New York State Biology 7-12 certification. Candidates must have a thorough
knowledge of scientific research, the elementary science kits, and strong organizational skills.
 
DUTIES:

Responsibilities include:

  • Instruction of Grade 8 Regents Biology and Biology Lab.
  • Working in partnership with the Museum of Science and building administration.
  • Coordination of the Museum of Science Education Program and Tift Farms.
  • Guiding and assisting teachers in the full and ongoing implementation of Science programs.
  • Guiding and assisting teachers in the implementation of the Common Core Learning Standards.
  • Guiding and assisting teachers in the implementation of TEAM Science kits and SEPUP Modules.
  • Planning and facilitating grade level meetings with a science focus.
  • Planning and collaborating with cultural and community partners.
  • Collaborating with building administrator and building coach.

SELECTION:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent
following assessment of training, experience, credentials and evaluation of service.  Personal interviews
shall be scheduled where appropriate.  This appointment will be processed as “temporarily assigned” to
the position. All temporary assignments end not later than June 30 and must be processed each year.
 
SALARY:         Teachers’ salary schedule.
