POSITION:                The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash, is interested in receiving
applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
 
                               REMEDIAL SPEECH TEACHER

QUALIFICATIONS:      Candidates must hold New York State certification as a Teacher of the Speech and
Hearing Handicapped or Teacher of the Speech and Language Disabled.  New York State Licensure
and Registration as a Speech-Language Pathologist and ASHA certificate of Clinical Competence are
preferred.  Candidates must have knowledge of Medicaid Regulations, ASHA Scope and Practice of
Speech-Language Pathology and Federal and State Regulations pertaining to Speech Pathology.
 
 
DUTIES:       Duties include but are not limited to, establishing an environment to enhance individual
growth and promote effective communication and speech-language skills, facilitating on-going services for
students with disabilities and conducting speech-language screening and evaluations. The Speech
Teacher works cooperatively with school personnel, to accomplish the goals and objectives stated on IEP. 
The speech teacher plans, organizes and delivers the highest quality of speech-language services,
monitors and evaluates student progress, maintains records and reports, enforces Board of Education
policies, regulations, and rules, maintains school property and materials and performs any assigned duties
as deemed necessary.
 
APPOINTMENT:       Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of
the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, credentials and evaluation of service. 
Personal interview shall be scheduled where appropriate.
