NOTICE OF POSITION
POSITION:
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of curriculum committee members for the following committee to serve as needed from: February 2017 - August 2019:
CURRICULUM COMMITTEE MEMBER
Social Studies
Science
English Language Arts
Mathematics – Grades K-8, Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II
Reading
Art
Music
ITC – Instructional Technology

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a New York State certification in the subject area applied for and be currently employed with the Buffalo Public Schools as a tenured teacher, have knowledge of the Common Core Learning Standards and knowledge of application of scientifically-based research.
DUTIES:
Curriculum committees will work directly with the CLRT Committee and with subject area and/or curriculum administrators. Committees must complete a variety of assignments within a mandated time frame. Assignments include but are not limited to evaluating supplemental materials and developing pertinent curriculum resources aligned to the practice of culturally responsive teaching of the Common Core Learning Standards. Committee members will participate in professional development to increase knowledge and skills required to fulfill responsibilities of related committee work.
APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, certifications, credentials and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be cheduled where appropriate.
SALARY: Committee members will be paid at the contractual rate.
