NOTICE OF POSITION
 

POSITION:

The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:

 

INSTRUCTIONAL SPECIALIST I – SCHOOL LEADERSHIP

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree, and a New York State Administrator Certificate (SDA/SDL/SAS/SBL).
It is required that candidates must attach a PDF or a screen shot of their certifications. Candidates must have completed four years of approved and appropriate teaching. Candidates must possess and have demonstrated, strong leadership, organizational and communication skills, both written and oral. Experience in grant writing and budget preparation is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The responsibilities of the Instructional Specialist I of School Leadership will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Support the Associate Superintendents of School Leadership
  • Conduct teacher APPR evaluations when needed
  • Provide intensive technical support and feedback to individual schools on their school improvement plans
  • Facilitate the Office of School Leadership Weekly Bulletin
  • Provide support and management to monthly Principal/Assistant Principal/SIG meetings
  • Provide support and management to the Division’s weekly meetings
  • Manage grants that support school improvement initiatives;
  • Work in partnership with the Grants Department and school administrators in development of budgets and budget narratives for proposals and special projects;
  • Schedule and facilitate monthly budget review meetings with school administrators to ensure timely spending aligned to approved grant and report out at weekly meetings
  • Facilitate and oversee development and execution of contracts;
  • Facilitate and oversee development and submission of state and/or local amendments;
  • Provide technical assistance to schools where needed;
  • Support school administrators in development of required reports associated with grants and initiatives
  • Provide differentiated, ongoing support and training to school administrators;
  • Collect and monitor logs of non-classroom positions funded through grants;
  • Prepare for audits as necessary;
  • Supervise the collection of data and prepare reports at the conclusion of the grants.
  • Other duties as assigned.
