POSITION:               
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates
for the position of:
 
Teachers for Credit Recovery and Credit Accrual - Afterschool Program at School #200
                                      Monday – Thursdays 3-5 PM

QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must hold a valid NYS teaching certificate and be currently employed at School #200 with the Buffalo
Public Schools as a member of the teaching staff. Candidates must also hold a valid certification in English Language
Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, CTE, Special Education, English as a Second Language, Physical Education,
Foreign Language, Art or certification as a School Counselor.
 
In addition, it is desired that candidates work all four days from Monday –Thursday for 2 hours a day.  Substitute teachers
positions are also available.  Dates for the program are November 4th 2015 -June 13th 2016.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES and PROGRAM GUIDELINES:           


The After-School Credit Recovery/Accrual Program, is primarily for students who are struggling to meet graduation requirements.  

Program Guidelines and Expectations:
 
  • The majority of the time should be spent providing academic remediation (recovery) or instruction (accrual), either teacher-driven or utilizing the GradPoint program. The purpose if for students to obtain course credit so that they can graduate on time or move up to the next grade level.
  • Instruction should reinforce the Common Core Learning Standards that students are expected to master based on their current grade levels.
  • The program must ensure the integration of academics and skill development through experiences that make learning relevant and engaging.
  • The program must address the individual needs of students and allow for various learning styles and methods.
  • The program must be of high quality, designed to improve student academic outcomes.
 
Teachers will work under the supervision of the Building Administration, as follows:
  • Instructing students on grade level coursework using differentiated strategies and approaches effective in working with students.
  • Coordinating efforts with the School Counselor and other GradPoint liaisons in the building
  • Provide instruction to students’ according to CCLS.
  • Prepare lessons for students using appropriate curriculum.
  • Outside planning time may be necessary.
  
APPOINTMENT:      
Appointment will be made by the building principal. Dr. Bert Stevenson, who will select the candidates that best match the
recruitment bulletin and the after-school program description, based on teacher seniority.



SALARY:                    Per hourly contractual teacher salary schedule.
