NOTICE OF POSITION
POSITION:The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
SAT PREPARATION TEACHER during EXTENDED LEARNING TIME
AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM AT # 200

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a valid General Education and/or Special Education New York certificate in grades K-12 and be currently employed at Bennett High School #200 with the Buffalo Public Schools as a tenured, probationary or temporary teacher.
Candidates must have earned a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree and have a New York State teaching certificate in a secondary core content area (Math, Science, English, Social Studies or Secondary Special Education). Candidates must possess a recognized interest in developing authentic and meaningful professional relationships with youth who struggle academically. Candidates must possess a demonstrated record of improved results for students academically in their current assignment. Candidates must have adequate knowledge of the BPS Curriculum.
In addition, candidates must be willing to work a minimum of 2 days a week Monday –Friday for 2 hours a day.
Teachers will create lesson plans and utilize the curriculum provided to them, as well as supplement as needed with supervisors’ approval. Teachers are expected to provide support & positive interaction with students, administer pre and post assessments, maintain attendance, and as needed, communicate and provide information to parents on the progress of their child.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teachers will work under the supervision of the Building Administration and the Multilingual Department:
- Instructing students on grade level coursework using differentiated strategies and approaches effective in working with LEP students.
- Provide instruction to students’ in ……according to CCLS.
- Prepare lessons for students using curriculum provided by school administrator.
- Outside planning time will be necessary.
- Teachers will be required to work a minimum of 2 hours a day, 2 days per week of the 4 day program (M-TH).
- Attend mandatory program training after school.
APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the building principals who will select the candidates that best match the recruitment bulletin and the after-school program description.
SALARY: Per hourly contractual teacher salary schedule
