POSITION: The Interim Superintendent of Schools, Donald A. Ogilvie, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
COMMITTEE ON SPECIAL EDUCATION – CHAIR/HELP TCHR – DATA/STATE REPORTING CENTRAL CSE

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must have New York State permanent teacher certification in Special Education and have 3-5 years of successful classroom experience in an urban school district. Candidates must have extensive knowledge of the Buffalo Public Schools Academic Achievement Plan, Federal and State regulations pertaining to Special Education and extensive knowledge of Individual Education Program development. Candidates should be familiar with State Reporting requirements, should have experience with IEP Direct including maintaining and accessing reports and listings. Candidates must have strong computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience in customer service, training and writing technical documentation also desirable.

DUTIES:
The Central CSE Chair for Data will process all data reporting as deemed necessary by the District Committee on Special Education as well as all responsibilities related to IEP Direct maintenance and implementation. The Central Committee on Special Education Chair for data will support any additional assigned duties deemed necessary and appropriate.
APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Interim Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, credentials and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate.
SALARY:
Teachers salary schedule based on BTF contract.
