NOTICE OF POSITION
POSITION: The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
Extended Learning Time - After School Program at Discovery School #67
Grade 7 Math Teacher

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a New York Mathematics certificate in grades 5-9 or 7-12 and be currently employed with the Buffalo Public Schools as a tenured, probationary or temporary teacher. Candidates must be willing to work 2 days a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:10-5:10 PM.
Teachers will create lesson plans and utilize the curriculum map provided, as well as supplement as needed with supervisors’ approval. Teachers are expected to provide support & positive interaction with students, administer pre and post assessments, maintain attendance, and as needed, communicate and provide information to parents on the progress of their child.
The position would entail teaching advanced math to grade 7 students from 4:10-5:10 PM, with an hour prep from 3:10-4:10 PM. The intent of the ELT math course is to develop foundational skills necessary to prepare the cohort to take Algebra in grade 8.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teachers will work under the supervision of the Building Administration:
- Instructing students on grade level coursework using differentiated strategies and approaches effective in working with students in need of academic supports.
- Provide instruction to students in Grades 7 according to CCLS.
- Prepare lessons for students using curriculum map provided by school administrator.
- Additional outside planning time will be necessary.
- Teachers will be required to work a minimum of 2 hours a day, 2 days a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays)
- Attend mandatory program training after school.
- Utilize web based programs in the area of Math.
APPOINTMENT:
