POSITION:                
The Interim Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Donald A. Ogilvie is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:

QUALIFICATIONS:  

Candidates must have a Master’s degree, and a New York State School District Administrator (SDA), or School District Leader (SDL)
certificate by the time of appointment. Candidates must have a minimum of five (5) years combined certificated teaching and supervisory
experience, with a minimum of one (1) year at the Supervisory level. Candidates with prior experience in an urban school district with a
large racially and ethnically diverse population are preferred.

Experience in the Following are necessary for a successful candidate:
 
  • Expertise in strategic planning
  • Systemic implementation of student support services
  • Expertise with full service community schools and/or school-linked services, family and community engagement
  • Demonstrated success in developing partnerships with community based organizations to support students’ academic, social and emotional success
  • Knowledge of university and business partnerships in Buffalo
  • Evaluation, data and program outcome monitoring
  • Fiscal management of federal and local grants
 
 
POSITION:      
The Buffalo Public Schools interfaces with community partnerships on multiple levels, e.g. grant contracts, school-level partnerships,
co-located service providers. A process is needed to ensure that the partnerships are purposeful and effective in meeting student outcomes.
The Director of District Partnerships will be responsible for cultivating and building these relationships. Lastly, there are unmet needs that
community partnerships could support. There are untapped opportunities for community partners to bring needed services to students. The
Director of Partnerships would work to leverage strong partnerships to bring in more resources, e.g. grants, and in-kind resources.
The Director of District Partnerships reports directly to the Chief of Strategic Alignment and Innovation.
 
DUTIES:      
             
The Director of District Partnerships is responsible for developing a:
 
  • directory of existing district partners,
  • procedure for monitoring partner effectiveness and alignment with the school/district goals,
  • process for selecting and entering into partnerships, e.g. fingerprint clearance as required by law.
 
The Director of District Partnerships is also responsible for:
 
  • Cultivating partnerships including community and university partnerships, stakeholders who should be engaged and supported with:
    • cross-training across all areas (academic, social and emotional) to support student success (NYSED Tenet 6)
    • inclusion, communication and collaboration at the school and district level
    • appropriate sharing of data
    • appropriate use of space
 
APPOINTMENT:      
Appointment will be made by the Interim Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, credentials and evaluation of service.
Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate.
 
 
SALARY:                     Administrator’s schedule based on BCSA contract.
