NOTICE OF POSITION
POSITION:
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
Extended Learning Time – After School Program - Elementary at School #59School Improvement Grant
APPLICATION:

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must also hold an Elementary Education or Special Education New York State teaching certificate and be currently employed with the Buffalo Public Schools as a tenured, probationary, temporary teacher. Preference will be given to teachers applying to teach at their own grade level.
In addition, candidates must be willing to work a minimum of 2 days a week Monday –Thursday for 2 hours a day.
Teachers will create lesson plans and utilize the curriculum provided to them, as well as supplement as needed with supervisors’ approval. Teachers are expected to provide support & positive interaction with students, administer pre and post assessments, maintain attendance, and as needed, communicate and provide information to parents on the progress of their child.
External staff must be able to start between 2:45 and 3:00.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teachers will work under the supervision of the Building Administration:
- Instructing students on grade level coursework using differentiated strategies and approaches effective in working with all students.
- Provide instruction to students’ in ELA and Math that is aligned to the CCLS.
- Prepare lessons for students.
- Outside planning time will be necessary.
- Teachers will be required to work a minimum of 2 hours a day, 2 days per week of the 4 day program (M-TH).
- Attend mandatory program training after school
APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the building principals who will select the candidates that best match the recruitment bulletin and the after-school program description.
