NOTICE OF POSITION
POSITION:The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
Student Support Coach

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a Certification in Elementary Education, Special Education, Secondary Certification, School Guidance Counselor, School Psychologist or School Social Worker. Other qualifications and skills include:
- Knowledge and experience implementing MTSS-B (PBIS) systems and practices with coaching experience preferred.
- Culturally competent with experience working in urban settings.
- Problem analysis skills with knowledge of the dynamics of human behavior.
- Exhibits strong organizational and communication skills with students, staff, parents and the public.
- Demonstrated proficiency with technology applications (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).Bilingual preferred.
This position will be under the Division of Student Support Services, within the Office of School Climate/MTSS-B. The Student Support Coach work on the objectives and focus areas outlined in the Student Suspension Reduction Plan. Individual will work with the Project Administrator for School Climate: Duties include:
Support to Schools and Staff:
- Coach schools and staff on positive behavior systems, Tier 1 and Tier 2/3 Teams.
- Work with teachers to implement effective classroom management strategies.
- Provide professional development to schools district-wide, assist with professional development registration, sign-in and evaluation.
- Assist schools with action planning and implementing Tenet 5 School Comprehensive Improvement Plan goals.
- Track evaluation performance data.
Facilitate Student Responsibility Model: - Facilitate student involvement by developing interactive dialogic curriculum.
- Model student engagement to school staff.
- Conduct transition meetings for students re-entering from suspension.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of credentials, certification, experience and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate.
SALARY: Teacher’s salary schedule.
