NOTICE OF POSITION

 

POSITION: The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:

 

Afterschool Credit Accrual and Recovery Program Teachers
Secondary Education, PE/Health, Art, ENL and Special Education
McKinley High School

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must have earned a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree and have a New York State teaching certificate in a secondary core content area (Math, Science, English, Social Studies) English as a second language or secondary special education. It is required that candidates must attach a PDF or a screen shot of their certifications.

The candidate must have a demonstrated record of effective academic results with academically challenged students. Candidates must possess a recognized interest in developing authentic and meaningful professional relationships with youth who struggle academically. Candidates must possess a demonstrated record of improved results for students academically in their current assignment. Candidates must have adequate knowledge of the BPS Curriculum.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Afterschool Credit Accrual and Recovery Program Teachers will work under the supervision of the Principal/Assistant Principal. The Principal, as the responsible head and educational leader of the school will assure compliance with state education law and Commissioner’s Regulations.

The assignment includes:

  • Facilitate, monitor, guide, support and communicate with students on their progress in the GradPoint On-line Credit Accrual / Recovery Program
  • 2 hours per day after-school from October, 2018 to June 2019
  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

APPOINTMENT:

Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following the assessment of training, experience, credentials, evaluation of service, program needs and interview.
