POSITION:
The Interim Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Donald A. Ogilvie., is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
PARENT INVOLVEMENT COORDINATOR (2)

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a valid New York State teaching certificate in Elementary Education grades PK-6 or Secondary grades 7-12, and be
currently employed with the Buffalo Public Schools as a tenured teacher. Bilingual is preferred for one of the positions.
EXPERIENCE:
Candidates must have a minimum of three years teaching experience. Preference will be given to candidates with credentials that possess
concentration in Reading and Math.
DUTIES:
Under the supervision of the Director and the Supervisor of Parent and Family Engagement, the duties of the Parent Community Education
Leader/Parent Involvement Coordinator include but will not be limited to:
- Facilitate the organization, implementation and evaluation of PK parent workshops held at individual buildings and/or the Howard Lewis Parent Center.
- Present workshops for PK District parents, families, parent facilitators and the community at large at a variety of locations (District and non-District).
- Assist with the development, planning, and execution of PK parent coursework and programming at the Howard Lewis Parent Center.
- Coordinate and assist in the planning, implementation and evaluation of the National Network of Partnership Schools Six Types Model initiative.
- Network with community-based programs and provide support for volunteer programs in the schools.
- Preparation of computerized reports including spreadsheets as needed.
- Additional duties as required.
APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Interim Superintendent following assessment of training, experience,
credentials and evaluation of service. Personal interviews, a modeled lesson and a writing sample will be scheduled where appropriate. This appointment will be
processed as “temporarily assigned” to the position.
SALARY: Teachers’ salary schedule plus $300.
