NOTICE OF POSITION
POSITION:
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of curriculum committee members for the following committee to serve as needed from: October 2016 - August 2019:

READING/LITERACY - GRADES PK - 12

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a New York State certification in the subject area(s) to include: Reading; Elementary Education K-6; Special Education K-6. Candidates must be currently employed with the Buffalo Public Schools as a tenured teacher, or literacy coach teaching/supporting the developmental reading program using District approved programs (Journeys, CKLA K-2); have knowledge of the Common Core Learning Standards and knowledge of application of scientifically-based research.
DUTIES:
Curriculum committees will work directly with subject area and/or curriculum administrators. Committees must complete a variety of assignments within a mandated time frame. Assignments include but are not limited to evaluating instructional materials and developing pertinent curriculum documents aligned to the Common Core learning Standards. Committee members will participate in professional development to increase knowledge and skills required to fulfill responsibilities of related committee work.
APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, certifications, credentials and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be cheduled where appropriate.
SALARY: Committee members will be paid at the contractual rate.
