NOTICE OF POSITION
POSITION:
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of Kaleidoscope Program Instructor to serve as needed from: August 2018 – May 2019
KALEIDOSCOPE PROGRAM INSTRUCTOR
Art Teacher, Dance Teacher and/or Theatre Teacher
Music Teacher
Chinese Teacher K - 12
French Teacher K - 12
Italian Teacher K - 12
Spanish Teacher K - 12

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a New York State certification in the subject area applied for (Subject areas listed above) and be currently employed with the Buffalo Public Schools as a teacher, have knowledge of the New York State Learning Standards, Common Core Learning Standards and knowledge of application of scientifically-based research. **Please upload a copy of your certification**.
DUTIES:
Duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Instructors will work directly with subject area and/or curriculum administrators.
- Instructors must be available during the week of August 6, 2018 to collaborate with subject area and/or curriculum administrators to create an interdisciplinary (Art, Music, and World Languages) curriculum and/or program for students in grades K – 5.
- Instructors will establish a rotating schedule to offer the Kaleidoscope Program during Saturday Academies at various Community School locations during the months of November through May.
- Instructors will be responsible for coordinating schedules for the program.
- Instructors will be responsible for collaborating with teaching artists and language specialists.
- Instructors will be responsible for management of materials and supplies for the program.
- Instructors will be responsible for taking attendance and maintaining any records related to the program.
APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, certifications, credentials and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate.
SALARY: Committee members will be paid at the contractual rate.
