                                                            RECRUITMENT FOR POSITION
 
POSITION:
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for a part-time hourly position in the Title I Neglected & Delinquent Program for the 2016 - 2017 school year as:
 
                        TITLE I MATH TUTOR AT THE ERIE COUNTY HOLDING CENTER
                                      TUESDAY & THURSDAY 6:30 P.M. – 9:30 P.M.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a New York State Teaching Certificate in Math or in an area that focuses on adolescent math skill development.  Candidate must have knowledge of NYSED Common Core Learning standards, knowledge of core curriculum, knowledge of scientifically-based research, and effective use of technology integration.  Candidates must have experience in working with out-of-school, at-risk, and late-adolescent youth. PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO THOSE CANDIDATES THAT HAVE CURRENT ERIE COUNTY HOLDING CENTER SECURITY CLEARANCE.
 
DUTIES:
Under the direction of the Director of Adult Education Services, and the Title I Office of Federal & State Programs, the Math Tutor for Title I Neglected & Delinquent Program will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: 

  • Work collaboratively with the subject area teachers as part of the evening high school program.
  • Provide supplemental math instruction to students who have been identified as in need of additional skill-based support in mathematics.
  • Using a parallel instructional support model alongside the core subject area teachers, work with students individually and in small groups, both in the classroom space and/or the computer lab.
  • Regularly monitor student progress and keep records of all pre- and post-assessments, and progress monitoring assessments, as well as intervention strategies used.
  • Provide information to subject area teachers to include in reports to parents.
  • Provide reports to the Office of Federal & State Programs Title I Department as requested.
  • Utilize software database and prescriptive software systems currently available, when applicable.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, certifications, credentials and evaluation of service.  Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate.
