                                                                       NOTICE OF POSITION 
POSITION:
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:

QUALIFICATIONS:  Candidates must hold permanent New York State certification as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped or Teacher of the Speech and Language Disabled and New York State Licensure and Registration as a Speech-Language Pathologist. A minimum of five years experience as a Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist is required. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence is preferred. Candidates must have application knowledge of IEP Direct, ASHA Scope and Practice of Speech-Language Pathology, Medicaid Regulations, and Federal and State Regulations pertaining to Speech-Language Pathology.  Candidates must also possess strong interpersonal communication skills.
 
DUTIES:
The duties include, but will not be limited to:

  • Providing information and support to the Teachers of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped/ Speech and Language Disabled (TSHH/TSLD) pursuant to Medicaid reimbursement requirements
  • Supporting TSHH/TSLD with three or less years experience per District protocol
  • Supporting TSHH/TSLD as requested by teachers
  • Assisting with the Extended School Year Medicaid requirements processing
  • Assisting the CSE in the appropriate development and implementation of Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
  • Completing other duties deemed necessary and appropriate
APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, certifications, credentials and evaluation of service.  Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate.
