POSITION:   
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Pamela C. Brown, is interested in receiving applications from qualified
candidates for the position of: 
 
             Afterschool Credit Accrual and Recovery Program School Counselor (AFTER SCHOOL) 
                                            McKinley High School

QUALIFICATIONS:           
Candidates must have earned a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree and have a New York State certificate for
School Counselor. The candidate must have a demonstrated record of effective academic guidance support
with academically challenged students and be able to effectively use the student information system (Infinite
Campus).  Candidates must possess a recognized interest in developing authentic and meaningful professional
relationships with youth who struggle academically and with school counselors at the “home” school of each
student enrolled. 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Afterschool Credit Accrual and Recovery Program Teachers will work under the supervision of the
Principal/Assistant Principal. The Principal, as the responsible head and educational leader of the school
will assure compliance with state education law and Commissioner’s Regulations. 
The assignment includes:
 

• 2 hours per week.
• Tuesday, Wednesday OR Thursday. 

 
SELECTION:           
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following
the assessment of training, experience, credentials, evaluation of service, program needs and interview.
