SOCIAL WORKER - AFTER SCHOOL VIRTUAL TEACHERS: GRADES K-8

NOTICE OF POSITION

The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for SOCIAL WORKER Grades K-8 after school virtual teaching positions.

**LOCATION, TIMES, and DATES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE**

SOCIAL WORKER GRADES K-8

Virtual Hub Site: TBD

Teacher Dates: December 2020 - May 2021

Remote Hours: 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. (not to exceed 3.5 hours)

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must be New York State or Buffalo certified in the tenure area of Social Worker. Priority in the selection of teachers will be given to qualified permanent/tenured/probationary/temporary Buffalo Public School teachers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

The Social Worker will be responsible but not limited to the following:

• scheduling conferences
• conduct comprehensive social histories for students
• administer adaptive behavior and parental checklist measures
• obtain interpreters for Social Histories
• work with students in small groups
• provide Counseling to students
• Implement PBIS/MTSS strategies
• perform any assigned duties as deemed necessary and appropriate.

APPOINTMENT:   Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, credentials and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate.

SALARY:             Teacher hourly rate based on BTF contract.
