NOTICE OF POSITION
POSITION:
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for a part-
time position within the Adult Education Program for the 2017-2018 school year as:
ESL SUPPORT LIAISON TEACHER

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must be a current part-time ESL Instructor with the Division, hold a bachelor’s degree, and a valid New York
State teaching certificate in Adult Education or K12. Certificate in TESOL or CELTA preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Teacher must have experience:
- (Minimum of 5 years educational experience) Working with high need, at-risk, ESL students.
- Coaching teachers and students in educational and professional best practices.
- Developing and implementing ESL and literacy curriculum
- Creating individual education plans geared toward education, employment, and civics goals of ESL students.
- Planning, designing, and implementing Adult Education programs.
- Establishing and maintaining community partnerships related to adult education programming.
- Communicating with various types of people in the schools and the community (exceptional oral and written communication skills a must).
- Adapting instruction according to testing, evaluations, educational programming, and student needs.
DUTIES:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Adult and Continuing Education, the Coordinator will:
- Help align curriculums to ESL teacher and student needs including, textbooks and online curriculum building
- Assist with promoting new classes including creating fliers and community outreach
- Complete site visits to check in on ESL teachers and support any areas of need
- Manage volunteers and interns between colleges and local universities
- Support ESL coaching of students and/or teachers, as requested
- Assist and lead special projects associated with the ESL department
- Handle requests and follow-through for supplies, materials, and technology
- Provide professional development opportunities for the division and NYSED, as needed
- Travel and will need use of personal transportation to travel to various community sites
- Complete other duties as needed to support the division
APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment
of training, credentials and evaluation of service. Personal interviews will be scheduled where appropriate.
