NOTICE OF POSITION
POSITION: The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Pamela C. Brown, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
We Prep @ I Prep - 21st Century After School Program
BPS is hiring for their 21st Community Learning Center program at International Prep School
at Grover in partnership with Child & Adolescent Treatment Services for the following
positions:
- 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade certified teachers preferably in ELA and Math
- Teacher Aides
- Teacher Assistants
- Enrichment leaders

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a valid General Education, Secondary Education, and/or Special Education New York certificate in grades K-12 core and be currently employed with the Buffalo Public Schools as a tenured, probationary or a certified substitute teacher. Candidates may also hold a valid certification in School Counseling, Social Work and be currently employed with the Buffalo Public Schools. The candidate must have a demonstrated record of effective academic results with academically challenged students. Candidates must possess a recognized interest in developing authentic and meaningful professional relationships with youth who struggle academically. Candidates must possess a demonstrated record of improved results for students academically in their current assignment. Candidates must have adequate knowledge of the BPS Curriculum. Candidates must be willing to work with the lowest 50% of the student population. Must be able to work at LEAST two days/week (M-F) from 2:45pm-5:45pm.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
21st Century After- School Program Teachers will work under the supervision of the Principal/Assistant Principal. The Principal, as the responsible head and educational leader of the school will assure compliance with state education law and Commissioner’s Regulations.
The assignment includes:
- Minimum 3 hours per day after-school from September to June.
- Minimum two days per week Monday through Thursday.
- Create lesson plans and utilize the curriculum provided to them, as well as supplement as needed with supervisor’s approval.
- Provide support & positive interaction with students, communicate and provide information to parents on the progress of their child.
- Instruct students on grade level course work using strategies and approaches that are aligned with CCLS and district/school goals.
- Instruct Special Education students according to their IEP’s.
- Prepare and provide Math and ELA instruction aligned with the CCLS.
- Prepare and provide instruction in core subject areas for High School students.
- Prepare lesson plans.
- Complete and comply with all NYS Office of Children and Family Services paperwork and orientation.
100 days of program.
5 days of professional development.
APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, credentials, and evaluation of service. Personal interviews will be scheduled where appropriate.
