NOTICE OF POSITION
POSITION: The Interim Superintendent of Schools, Donald Ogilvie, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
Professional Development Instructional Integration Facilitator

QUALIFICATIONS: The candidate must be a NYS certified teacher currently employed with contract status in the Buffalo Public Schools. Preference will be given to individuals with course work and/or experience in the areas of instructional technology and professional development.
- Possess a deep understanding of Common Core Learning Standards
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of software to create online professional development opportunities
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of instructional technology and how instructional technology applies to information literacy skills and student learning, especially in relation to the Common Core Learning Standards, curriculum and professional development
- Possess a thorough knowledge of BPS curriculum and instructional models
- Demonstrate knowledge of multiple staff development models and approaches
- Show the ability to plan, lead and facilitate staff development opportunities with a variety of stakeholders
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the Professional Growth System (PGS), Infinite Campus and Data Dashboard
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of web page design
- Working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript and CCS with some coding
- Possess a deep understanding of the APPR process including, NYSUT Rubric, writing SLO/LMAs and creating artifacts
DUTIES:
- Provide professional development on presentation tools and software used to facilitate online PD
- Support and maintain web design of the Professional Growth System(PGS), Staff Development web page, APPR and CAI web pages
- Create, maintain and monitor web-based professional learning opportunities(PLO) in the Professional Growth System
- Assist CAI dept. and other district personnel in creating web-based professional learning opportunities
- Consult on integration resources including hardware, software, and instructional resources for professional development and curriculum implementation
- Assist Staff Development dept. and CAI dept. in the coordination of professional learning opportunities directly related to integration resources in all content areas
- Create district and school based reports using PGS, Excel and Access
- Provide support for PD facilitators on Computer Based Programs and resources needed to provide professional development
- Assist district personnel in preparing professional development opportunities using multiple delivery options including online
- Assist Curriculum Assessment and Instruction department staff with implementation of the teacher-specific portions of the Infinite Campus student information system including and PGS with any facet associated with the APPR process.
- Assist Curriculum Assessment and Instruction department staff with development of course offerings, data analysis, and web page enhancements
- Continuously develop and improves own capacity, and the capacity of others, to integrate technology effectively into curriculum, assessment and instruction
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Supports the work of administrators in the use of computer systems, software, and hardware over a variety of networks
- Supports teachers and administrators in the use of web based solutions for Professional Development
APPOINTMENT: Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Interim Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, credentials and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate.
