POSITION:  The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of Assessment Review Committee members for the following committees to serve as needed from August 3, 2016-August 31, 2019:

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must hold a valid New York State teacher certification in one of the content areas listed above and be currently employed with the Buffalo Public Schools as a tenured teacher. Candidates must also have knowledge of the Common Core Learning Standards and/or subject area learning standards, content knowledge, as well as assessment writing protocols. Preference will be given to teachers who have participated in SED item writing initiatives. Candidates should be strong writers and have a good sense of grammar and syntax.
 
DUTIES:   Assessment review committees will work directly with the subject area and/or OSA administrators. Committees must complete a variety of training and assignments within a mandated time frame.  Assignments include but are not limited to creating and/or reviewing and revising existing BPS created assessments.  Committee members will be compensated to participate in professional development to increase knowledge and skills required to fulfill responsibilities of related committee work
 
APPOINTMENTAppointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, credentials and evaluation of service.  Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate.
 
SALARY:                   Per hourly contractual teacher salary schedule.
