NOTICE OF POSITION
POSITION:The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
Afterschool Credit Accrual and Recovery Program Teachers

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must have earned a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree and have a New York State teaching certificate in a secondary core content area (Math, Science, English, Social Studies) English as a second language or secondary special education. The candidate must have a demonstrated record of effective academic results with academically challenged students. Candidates must possess a recognized interest in developing authentic and meaningful professional relationships with youth who struggle academically. Candidates must possess a demonstrated record of improved results for students academically in their current assignment. Candidates must have adequate knowledge of the BPS curriculum.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Afterschool Credit Accrual and Recovery Program Teachers will work under the supervision of the Principal/Assistant Principal. The Principal, as the responsible head and educational leader of the school will assure compliance with state education law and Commissioner’s Regulations. The assignment includes:
- 2 hours per day after-school from October to June
- Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following the assessment of training, experience, certifications, credentials, evaluation of service, program needs and interview.
