NOTICE OF POSITION


POSITION: The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:

 

COMMITTEE ON SPECIAL EDUCATION CHAIR/HELPING TEACHER –
COMPLIANCE COORDINATOR

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidate must have New York State permanent teacher certification in Special Education, 3-5 years of successful classroom experience in an urban school district and a minimum of 2 years' experience chairing CSE meetings. Candidates must have extensive knowledge of Federal and State regulations pertaining to Special Education and extensive knowledge of Individual Education Program development. Experience with Frontline IEP including maintaining and accessing reports and listings and experience creating excel spreadsheets preferred. Experience in customer service, training and writing technical documents is preferred.

LOCATION: Committee on Special Education
 
DUTIES:
The Committee on Special Education Chairperson responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
•    Run weekly/monthly listings in Frontline of initial/RE/AR meetings to maintain cases compliance
•    Track district compliance with the State Performance Plan Indicators to ensure all targets are met. 
•    Will determine areas of training needed based upon data gathered
•    Will review current IEP documents for quality assurance
•    Develop a process to track and maintain quality IEP development.
•    Communicate with administrative team regarding compliance with State Performance plan and quality IEP development.  
•    Communicate with administrative team about trends in referral data including relevant information about school/grade/nature of CSE referrals
•    Log all necessary information onto spreadsheet 
•    Track receipt of communication forms from building administrators
•    Track Special Transportation requests and outcomes on database
•    Perform other duties as assigned
