The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for a part-time hourly position in the Adult Education Program for the 2021 - 2022 School year as:
 

ADULT EDUCATION – CAREER ADVISOR (DAY)
PART TIME - HOURLY

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a New York State School Counseling Teaching Certificate,
- or -
Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate field from accredited university,
- and -
An Adult Education Certificate (or willing to obtain). For NYS Adult Ed certification, you will be required to take Child Abuse Reporting, SAVE, & DASA workshops.

EXPERIENCE:
All candidates must have three (3) years of experience working with adults in a workplace career counseling arena. Candidates are expected to have experience with high school or out-of-school youth.

DUTIES:
Advisors will work one on one with students and provide counseling and referral services as needed. Teachers must be able to implement the instructional program in career advisement following curriculum guidelines provided and NYS Standards/Goals; evaluate students and instruction; be willing to utilize the database and prescriptive software systems currently available, and maintain accurate records. Teachers must attend a minimum of 11 staff development hours by EPE guidelines and participate in the orientation course with Western New York Consortium Professional Staff Development. Must be familiar with Business and Industry Workforce agencies. Be able to help students find employment.

APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, certifications, credentials and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate.

SALARY:          Hourly Teacher Salary Schedule.
