Multilingual Teacher Aides

Buffalo Public Schools is looking for the following Multilingual Aide to support the Heritage Language Program during Saturday Academy at Various Locations. Heritage Language Programs provide students and families access to engage in learning their language and culture from native speakers in which to create an environment that fosters embraces and honors the diversity of the District. Programs are tailored to students in grades K-8 and who have the same home language as that which the program is offered.
Qualifications: Must be a current Teacher aide/ Teaching Assistant with Buffalo Public schools and be a proficient speaker of the required language.
The following 7 Languages are needed:
Arabic – 2 positions
Burmese - 2 positions
Karen - 2 positions
Karenni- 1 positions
Somali - 1 positions
Swahili- 1 position
3 Hour commitment - Instructional start and end hours vary by location
Program Begins in November 2022, additional hours may be available as needed.

Job Duties:
Provide paraprofessional support for Saturday Academy
Provide Language enrichment
Plan and participate in culturally enriching activities
Translation Support
