The Superintendent of Schools, Dr.Tonja Williams Knight, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for a part-time hourly position in the Adult Education Program for the 2024-2025 school year.
 

ADULT EDUCATION - ESL DAY INSTRUCTOR PART-TIME HOURLY

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold, or be willing to obtain a New York State Teaching Certificate or a New York State Adult Education Certificate. Candidates will also be required to take or show proof of Child Abuse Reporting, SAVE, and DASA workshops. Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate field from an accredited university. Certification in TESOL, ESOL, CELTA, or other related field from an accredited college or university is preferred.

It is required that candidates must attach a PDF or a screenshot of their certifications

EXPERIENCE:
Prefer all candidates to have at least three (3) years’ experience working with ESL and foreign-born adults in a workplace or educational setting.

DUTIES:
Teachers must be able to implement the instructional program in the appropriate area following curriculum guidelines provided, NYS Standards/Goals, adhere to NRS Standards, evaluate students and instruction, and utilize the database and prescriptive software systems currently available. Other duties as needed. Teachers must attend a minimum of 14 staff development hours by NYSED guidelines.

APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of credentials, experience, and evaluation of service.
