POSITION

The Superintendent of Schools, Dr.Tonja M. Williams, is interested in receiving applications for qualified candidates for the position of: 

 

MASTER SCHEDULER
SUMMER 2023

 

 

LOCATION:

Training will be virtual. Master scheduling will be a combination of in-person and virtual/remote.

 

Mandatory training dates:

Virtual Training
  • Time: 4:30-7:30 (3.5 hours)
  • Dates:
  • Prek-6
  • Training: May 30
  • Follow up: June 13

GRADES 7-8

  • Training: May 31
  • Follow up: June 14

GRADES 9-12

  • Training: June 1
  • Follow up: June 15

Each scheduler will be allotted 20 hours (more if warranted) to complete the scheduling process for the assigned summer school site(s) following the district timeline. No more than 3.5 hours daily can be used for this work outside of the contractual workday. More information will be discussed at the training sessions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must be New York State or Buffalo certified in Grades PreK-12 in any content area. Candidates must have scheduling experience, attend BPS Master Scheduling, and have proficiency with Infinite Campus. Priority in the selection will be given to candidates that have scheduling experience and have attended the Master Scheduling training from BPS.

JOB SUMMARY: 

Position requires collaborating with administrators to plan and create master schedules for summer programing, that best suit the needs of the students in the building.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 

  • Schedule students and assign teachers.
  • Build balanced class sizes, making sure class size capacity is not exceeded.
  • Build rosters so classes include a balance ratio of students with special needs, and English learners.
  • Include Encore subjects and Enrichment blocks daily.
  • Finish the master schedule before students arrive on the first day of summer school.

Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, certifications, credentials and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate
