NOTICE OF POSITION
POSITION: The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
DIRECTOR OF CULTURALLY AND LINGUISTICALLY
RESPONSIVE INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAMS

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a Master’s degree, and a New York State School District Administrator (SDA/SDL), School Building Administrator (SBL/SBA) or a New York State School Supervisor (SAS) certificate by the time of appointment. It is required that candidates must attach a PDF or screen shot of their certification(s). Candidates must have a minimum of five years combined certificated teaching and school administration or supervisory experience with a minimum of one year at the supervisory level. Candidates with prior leadership experience in an urban school district or in a district with an urban population are preferred, as are candidates who are proficient in the Culturally and Linguistically Responsive Teaching Practices
DUTIES:
Under the direction of the Associate Superintendent of Culturally and Linguistically Responsive Initiatives, the Director of Culturally and Linguistically Responsive Initiatives will:
- Oversee the implementation of all CLRI student-based programming
- My Brother’s Keeper Male Academy
- Our Story Project
- MBK Fellows
- Big Sister Little Sister Dialogues Project
- Global Scholars
- Learning Technology Grant
- August Wilson Monologues
- Scholars for Social Justice
- Support in the development of new and innovative all-male and all-female high school programs
- Administer CLRI school-based programs and Saturday Academies;
- Assist in the implementation of CLRI practices in all schools
- Supervise teachers implementing CLRI School-based programs
- Supervise and support CLRI curriculum development
- Support schools in implementation of the Emancipation Curriculum
- Work closely with other Department administrators and staff to implement CLRI Professional Development
- Direct CLRI TOSA’s work to coach and support the delivery of CLRI school-based instructional programs
- Develop Board Recommendations to support CLRI Instructional programs
- Prepare and ensure timely submission of reports
- Participate in professional development to increase knowledge and skills required to fulfill related work
- Facilitate and direct project based learning opportunities at the building level
- Carry out the responsibilities assigned by the Superintendent, his designee, or the Associate Superintendent for CLRI;
- Other duties as assigned.
APPOINTMENT: Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, certifications, credentials and evaluation of service.
