NOTICE OF POSITION
POSITION:
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr.Tonja M. Williams Knight, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
After Hours HUB Teacher for students who are suspended
General Education and Special Education Teachers
Three Hours for Students in Grades 7-12
Two Hours for Students in Grades 1-6
Virtual and In-Person HUB school locations for Grades K-8:
#94 starting at 3:15pm
#27, #92, #95 starting at 3:45pm
Virtual only HUB school location for Grades K-6:
#45 starting at 4:45pm
Virtual and In-Person HUB School Locations for Grades 9-12:
#131 starting at 3:30pm, #198 starting at 3:10pm, #301 starting at 3:50pm
#197 starting at 3:10pm, and #206 starting at 3:30pm
Morning instructional times may be considered for certain HUB sites.
ALL instruction (virtual and in-person) will occur at the HUB sites. There will be multiple instructors assigned to each site.
The Alternate Instruction Program for suspended students will run every day school is in session to the last day of the school year for 2024-2025.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must be a current BPS Teacher and must be certified in Elementary Education or Secondary Education, preferably in Mathematics, or Special Education K-12 with dual certification in either Math, ELA, Science or Social Studies 7-12.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Report to an assigned HUB site to provide alternate instruction. Facilitate virtual and in-person age/grade appropriate instructional lessons from the HUB site to students from multiple schools assigned by the suspended student’s regular classroom teacher.
- Provide instruction to a group of students from multiple schools.
- Instruct students virtually and in-person synchronously.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Record and take accurate attendance each day and submit attendance records as outlined in the Alternate Instruction Handbook.
- Where appropriate, use various learning materials and resources.
- Utilize differentiated instructional methods to support the learning needs of students at varying levels of progress.
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of virtual and/or in person learning materials and equipment.
- Use relevant district technology to support instruction including but not limited to Schoology and Microsoft TEAMS.
- Observe and evaluate student performance and development during lessons.
- Accept and administer class work, homework, tests, and assignments to students and return completed assignments to regularly assigned teacher.
- Provide appropriate feedback on student work.
- Monitor and encourage individual student progress.
- Provide guidance to students which will promote educational development.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development.
- Establish virtual classroom rules and expected student behavior.
- Foster and maintain effective communication with parents and/or guardians to monitor student participation.
- Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal or other appropriate administrator.
APPOINTMENT:
Appointments will be made based on seniority and certification areas.
SALARY: BTF Contractual rate
