NOTICE OF POSITION
POSITION:
The Superintendent, Dr. Pascal Mubenga, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must have at least five years of appropriate and approved teaching experience and must hold New York State certification in ELA (7-12). The candidate must possess thorough knowledge of the Next Generation Learning Standards, excellent organizational skills, demonstrate leadership and interpersonal communication skills, and have the capability to provide adult professional development and classroom support. Proficiency in the use of technology is required.
DUTIES:
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching AIS classes
- Pushing into classrooms to provide targeted instruction and interventions, Supporting teachers with the integration of the Next Generation Learning Standards through implementation of the district ELA curriculum
- Guiding and assisting teachers/teacher teams with planning for AIS lessons, by modeling good practice/structures for small groups, with planning and implementing AIS stations, etc.
- Guiding and assisting teachers/teacher teams with planning lessons using co-teaching models
- Guiding and assisting teachers in the implementation of valid and reliable assessment tools
- Guiding and assisting teachers/teacher teams with creating data-based small groups
- Facilitating the review and analysis of student data to determine appropriate student interventions
- Assisting with the development of action plans based on data and supporting the implementation
- Intensively monitoring literacy programs, strategies, and materials for students who are performing below grade level
- Collaborating with, guiding, and assisting teachers in using technology to support literacy instruction
- Building teacher capacity through coaching and professional learning, including designing, planning, and facilitating professional development on the use of ELA curriculum and literacy strategies
- Coordinating schoolwide Regents readiness systems, including diagnostics, intervention group formation, progress monitoring, tutoring plans, and data reviews.
- Leading literacy interventions: Support implementation of schoolwide reading and writing expectations and writing across the curriculum initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned by the building principal
APPOINTMENT:
An appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, following an assessment of training, experience, certifications, credentials, and service. Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate. This appointment will be processed as “temporarily assigned” to the position. All temporary assignments end not later than June 30 and must be processed each year.
