NOTICE OF POSITION
POSITION:
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Tonja M. Williams is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
EXTENDED LEARNING TIME-AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM @ BPS #48 @ MLK
GRADES K-6

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a valid General Education and/or Special Education New York certificate In grades K-6 core and be currently employed with the Buffalo Public Schools as a tenured, probationary or temporary teacher. Candidates must be willing to work 2 days a week, Monday through Friday 4:00-6:00 pm. Teachers will create lesson plans and utilize the curriculum provided to them, as well as supplement as needed with supervisors’ approval. Teachers are expected to provide support & positive interaction with students, administer pre and post assessments, maintain attendance, and as needed, communicate and provide information to parents on the progress of their child.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teachers will work under the supervision of the Building Administration:

Instructing students on grade level coursework using differentiated strategies and approaches effective in working with students in need of academic supports.

Provide instruction to students in Grades K – 6 according to CCLS.

Prepare lessons for students using curriculum provided by school administrator.

Outside planning time will be necessary.

Teachers will be required to work a minimum of 2 hours a day, 2 days a week (Monday & Wednesday).

Attend mandatory program training after school.

Utilize web based programs in the areas of Math and ELA.
APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the building principals who will select the candidates that best match the recruitment bulletin and the after-school program description.
