NOTICE OF POSITION
POSITION: The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
Supervisor of sPECIAL eDUCATION

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must hold a Master's degree, a permanent New York State teaching cerficate in Special Education and a New York State School District Administrator (SDA/SDL) certificate by the time of appointment. It is required that candidates must attach a PDF or a screen shot of their certifications. Candidates must have a minimum of five years of approved teaching and/or administrative experience. Knowledge of the Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, Part 200 Students with Disabilities Required.
DUTIES: The Supervisor of Special Education will report to the Director of Special Education and will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:
- Monitor all CSE requirements and actions
- Audit compliance with Part 200 Regulations
- Monitor IEP Direct input
- Meet with CSE Chairs to review caseloads
- Monitor MDR team
- Lead and monitor the implementation of progress monitoring
- Provide supports to teachers on instructional interventions and best practices for instruction and behavior
- Participate as a member of the administrative team as it relates to staff and professional development
- Provide ongoing support to buildings
- Develop and provide professional development to teachers and paraprofessionals and staff
- Assist with design, adapting and implementation of department procedures to improve service to students with disabilities
- Conduct formal observations in alignment with the APPR process
- Attend required district and department meetings
- Other duties as assigned
APPOINTMENT: Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the
Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, credentials, certifications and evaluation of
service. Personal interviews will be scheduled where appropriate.
