POSITION:
The Superintendent, Dr. Tonja M. Williams Knight, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:

SUMMER SCHOOL SCIENCE TEACHER
EARTH SCIENCE PART D PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT COORDINATOR
Days: Up to 10 days during summer school (1/200th)
LOCATION: TBD- Position will require coordinator to travel to different summer school locations.
Hours and days will be determined by the Director of Science

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must be New York State or Buffalo certified in the tenure area of Science (Earth Science). Priority in the selection of teachers will be given to qualified permanent/tenured/probationary/temporary Buffalo Public School teachers in order of summer school seniority. Summer school seniority is defined as previous years of BPS summer employment in a classroom setting. Only current and active BPS employees earn summer school seniority.
Candidates must have knowledge in administration and scoring of the Earth Science Regents Assessment Part D. Candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, and demonstrate leadership and interpersonal communication skills with adults. Candidate must have computer knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel). A strong knowledge of Earth Science Regents Assessment Part D administration and scoring.
Candidates for Buffalo Public Schools Summer School are eligible to work for one of the summer programs only.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Responsible for the coordinating with Building Administrators and Earth Science teachers the set up and administration of Earth Science Regents Assessment Part D at BPS Summer School Hubs
- Administration and Proctoring of Earth Science Assessment Part D at BPS Summer School Hubs
- Scoring of Earth Science Regents Assessment Park D at various Summer School Hubs
- Organize and manage all information of students that have been administered the Earth Science Regents Assessment Park D at various Summer School Hubs
- Complete necessary data entry and maintenance for Earth Science Students in regards to Earth Science Regents Exam Testing.
- Maintains accurate records of all students being tested- Earth Science Regents Assessment Park D at various Summer School Hubs
- Prepare Science classrooms for Part D Performance Assessment section of the Earth Science Regents Exam.
- Provide for the care and protection of school property during the Part D Assessments of the Earth Science Regents Exam.
- Use relevant technology to support administration of Part D performance assessment portion of the Earth Science Regents Exam.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and development.
- Update records accurately and completely as required by laws and district policies.
- Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Science.
