NOTICE OF POSITION
POSITION:
The Interim Superintendent of Schools,Will Keresztes, Ed,D,, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of Curriculum Committee Members for the following committee to serve as needed for thee 2025-2026 School year.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a New York State teacher certification in Elementary Education and be currently employed with the Buffalo Public Schools as a tenured teacher and have knowledge of the Next Generation Learning Standards for Reading and knowledge of the application of Scientifically Based Reading Research. Candidates must ALSO either be currently teaching K-5 reading in a general education, special education, bilingual or dual language environment, or be working as a Support Reading Teacher (SRT), ENL teacher, Literacy Coach, or working as a department TOSA in the areas of CLRI, Special Education, or Multilingual.
DUTIES:
Curriculum committees will work directly with the subject area administrators. Committees must complete a variety of tasks within a mandated time frame. Assignments include, but are not limited to, evaluating instructional materials for textbook adoption and developing pertinent curriculum documents aligned to Next Generation Learning Standards. Committee members will participate in professional development to increase knowledge and skills required to fulfill responsibilities of related committee work.
APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, certifications, credentials and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate.
SALARY: Committee members will be paid at the contractual rate.
