POSITION
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr.Tonja Williams, is interested in receiving applications for qualified candidates for the position of: 

 

VIRTUAL COORDINATOR
SUMMER 2027


 

LOCATION: 
TBD- Position will require coordinator to travel to different summer school locations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must be New York State or Buffalo certified in the tenure area for which they are applying to teach.  Priority in the selection of teachers will be given to candidates with prior experience coordinating the grad point  and must be qualified permanent/ tenured/probationary/temporary Buffalo Public School teachers in order of summer school seniority. Please upload a copy of your NYS certification(s). Ensure that your name is visible, as well as your certification area(s). We will accept a screenshot from your NYS Teach account or you can upload using the physical document. Summer school seniority is defined as previous years of BPS summer employment in a classroom setting. Only current and active BPS employees earn summer school seniority. 

Candidates for Buffalo Public Schools Summer School are eligible to work for only one of the programs.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Plan, prepare and deliver age appropriate instructional activities that facilitate engaging and The coordinator is responsible for maintenance of learning management system, providing staff development and training, implementing District virtual learning procedures, monitoring student progress, and providing technology support to end users.


These responsibilities include but are not limited to:

•    Coordinates the virtual learning enrollment process 
•    Enrolls students in learning management system
•    Provides technical support for end users accessing learning management system
•    Communicates with vendor support team
•    Ensures that a support infrastructure is appropriately utilized in each summer school site
•    Implements District virtual learning procedures
•    Develops best practices for virtual learning
•    Tracks and collects data regarding enrollment, course completion, and monitors student progress
•    Prepares data for District review
•    Creates training materials for teachers and students
•    Provides professional development for staff
•    Provides student orientation to the program guidelines and virtual learning courses
•    Maintain logistical information (passwords, contact information)
•    Verifies course completions and provides necessary documentation of completion to teachers, counselors and administrator
•    Reports student progress in virtual learning courses to school counselors and administrators
•    Maintains accurate student records and logistical information in learning management system
•    Monitors and supports technology needs of students

Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, certifications, credentials and evaluation of service.  Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate.
