POSITION:
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Pascal Mubenga, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of:
ADULT EDUCATION COORDINATOR
INTAKE, ORIENTATION, LITERACY ZONE, AND CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or education and a valid New York State K-12 teacher certification. Additionally, the candidate must have:
- Minimum of five years of approved and appropriate teaching with diverse and multilingual adult students
- Knowledge of typical Adult Education students, requirements, and requirements for a student to be successful
- Knowledge of other resources and programs in the community for referrals and support as necessary
- Knowledge of NYSED Adult Education guidelines, WIOA Title II, and EPE funding requirements
- Knowledge of Literacy Zone activities and Outcomes
- Community connections for Literacy Zone activities and presentations
- Experience with NRS reporting and NYSED-approved assessments
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in ASISTS (Adult Student Information System and Technical Support) web-based data management system used by adult literacy programs in New York State
DUTIES:
Under the supervision of the Supervisor, Director, and Instructional Specialist III of Adult and Continuing Education, the Coordinator will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Plan, monitor and develop process and procedures for Central Orientation and Intake for all Adult Education programs and services
- Coordinate Literacy Zone presentations for the three LitZone sites in the City (East, North, West)
- Maintain and monitor Literacy Zone outcomes for the division
- Attend Literacy Zone meetings monthly
- Provide professional development and coaching to Case Managers across the division
- Focus will be on meeting NRS outcomes for EPE, WIOA and Perkins students
- Assist in student enrollment and recruitment, curriculum development, interagency relationships and coordination; compliance with NYS regulations for Adult and Continuing Education; statistical reports required by the Board of Education, New York State, and other funding sources
- Evaluation of student progress
- Administer the TABE-E and TABE 13/14 assessments
- Supporting all programs at the 15 sites across the City of Buffalo.

APPOINTMENT:
An appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, following an assessment of training, experience, credentials, and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate. All Adult Education assignments are temporary and will end no later than June 30th, and must be processed each year.
