NOTICE OF POSITION

 

The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Tonja M. Williams Knight, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the internal position of:
 

ARSI MULTILINGUAL SUPPORT TEACHER
STEAM COORDINATOR
SUMMER 2025

Division of Multilingual Education: 1 Position 1/200th DAYS 

Time: 8:15 am – 3:30 pm 

Days: 

SET-UP DAYS: JULY 7, JULY 8 

STUDENT DAYS: JULY 9-AUGUST 12 

CLEAN OUT HALF DAY: AUGUST 13

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a valid teaching certificate in: English as a Second Language, Bilingual Education, Elementary Education, or Reading, or Science and be currently employed with the Buffalo Public Schools as a tenured or probationary teacher. Teachers will create lesson plans for students, and presentations for families utilizing approved district curriculum, supplementing with supervisor’s approval. Teachers are expected to tutor students in English and reading in a positive and affirming environment and provide information and presentations for parents. *Preference will be given to those who have prior experience with the Multilingual Support Teachers Afghan program AND who have experience as a Science Coordinator.* 


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teachers will work under the supervision of a Multilingual administrator:

  • Instructing students on basic English and reading skills using differentiated strategies and approaches appropriate for Multilingual Learners. 
  • Provide instruction on twenty-five consecutive weekdays for students during July and August. 
  • Prepare lessons for students utilizing the curriculum provided, and supplementing when needed with supervisor’s approval. 
  • Teachers must work the program's duration

APPOINTMENT:
Appointments will be made by the Division of Multilingual Education who will select the candidates that best meet the requirements of the recruitment bulletin.
