NOTICE OF POSITION
POSITION:
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Tonja M. Williams, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the internal position of:
Division of Multilingual Education: 11 Teacher Positions
5 THREE HOUR SESSIONS DURING THE MONTH OF MAY AND JUNE
Time: 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Days: MAY 28, JUNE 4, JUNE 11, JUNE 18, JUNE 25

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must hold a valid teaching certificate in: English as a Second Language, Bilingual Education, Elementary Education, Secondary English, or Reading and be currently employed with the Buffalo Public Schools as a tenured or probationary teacher. Teachers will create curriculum outlines for summer programming utilizing approved district curriculum, supplementing with supervisor’s approval. Teachers are expected to work in teams to generate an outline for skills to be worked on by grade levels during our summer programming. *Preference will be given to those who have previously worked in the Jump Start and Se Levanta programs.*
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creating curriculum outlines for each grade level in the Jump Start and Se Levanta program that are tailored to the project-based learning approach.
- Create a teacher-friendly lesson plan to be utilized during the summer.
- Further develop pre and post-tests and design a tracking system for keeping data on our students.
- Teachers must work the program's duration.
APPOINTMENT:
Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent following assessment of training, experience, credentials and evaluation of service. Personal interviews shall be scheduled where appropriate.
SALARY: Teacher hourly rate or daily based on BTF contract.
