NOTICE OF POSITION
 

POSITION:
The Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kriner Cash, is interested in receiving applications from qualified candidates for the position of :

Curriculum Inclusion and Diversity

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must hold a valid New York State Teacher Certification in one of the following areas: Reading, Elementary Education, English Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Foreign Language, Special Education, Art, Music, TESOL, ESL, CTE, and Library Services, and be currently employed with the Buffalo Public Schools as a tenured teacher. It is required that candidates must attach a PDF or a screen shot of their certifications.

 

Duties:

Under the direction of the Supervisor of Culturally and Linguistically Responsive Initiatives, the TOSA for Curriculum Inclusion and Diversity will:

  • Work collaboratively with CLRI curriculum committees to craft diverse and antiracist instructional resources and lessons to infuse throughout the core curriculum
  • Coordinate efforts to implement diverse curriculum resources and practices in CLRI instructional programs
  • Coach and mentor teachers to promote and support the use of culturally and linguistically responsive instructional materials and practices
  • Assist with coordinating the logistics of CLRI culturally responsive school programs
  • Assist with the facilitation of CLRI anti-racist and diversity and inclusion professional development opportunities
  • Participate as a member of the District’s CLRI committee and support implementation of action steps
  • Work with the Supervisor of CLRI to garner literature resources that include history and culture from the diverse perspectives of African American, Latinx, Indigenous, and New American authors to infuse into standing core curriculum
  • Participate in professional development to increase knowledge and skills required to fulfill responsibilities of related work;
  • Carry out the responsibilities assigned by the Superintendent, his designee, the Director of CLRI, or the Associate Superintendent of CLRI and other duties as assigned
