POSITION:          The Interim Superintendent of Schools, Amber Dixon, is interested
in receiving applications from qualified candidates for Grades 9 – 12 summer school
teaching positions:

Staff dates:                               July 23 – August 21, 2012
Library staff dates:                    July 23 – August 15, 2012
Student Instruction dates:         July 23 – August 15, 2012  
Regents exams to be held:       August 16 and 17, 2012
Rating and Grade Input:           August 20 and 21, 2012

Staff hours: 8:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
Student hours: 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
                                   
APPLICATION:        Candidates must complete an application form available on the District
website, at www.buffaloschools.org.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:Candidates must be New York State or Buffalo certified in the tenure
area for which they are applying to teach.
 
EXPERIENCE:          Priority in the selection of teachers will be given to qualified
permanent/tenured/probationary/temporary Buffalo Public School teachers in order
of summer school seniority.
                                               
DUTIES:                     Paid Teacher Preparation Day is July 20, 2012 (3 hour session)
for grades 9 - 12. Successful candidates are encouraged to attend.
                                                                                                                               
APPOINTMENT:       Appointment will be made by the Board of Education upon the
recommendation of the Interim Superintendent following assessment of summer
school seniority,training, credentials,and evaluation of service.  Interviews shall
be scheduled where appropriate.
 
SALARY:                   Teacher hourly rate based on BTF contract.
